The Roadmap
Ideate
Knowing your business is the starting point of your roadmap. First you must have a clear idea of what you want to create. Although this step may seem easy, its actually the hardest one. Its not just about what you want, its about what is needed and what is already out there. Think carefully about what makes you different .
End Goal
Knowing where you want to go is the next step in the process. If you are not clear about what you want to do and what you want to achieve, you are setting yourself up for failure. This includes financial, non-financial and personal goals. This should be a snapshot for you to decide if its truly the journey you want to take, or not.
Target Market
What type of customers do you expect to draw-in? Make sure you identify who your ideal customer is, because it’s often not who you think it is, you may have to be creative and think outside of the box.
Milestones
Milestones can be considered mini goals. They are powerful components in project managemen t because they show key events and map forward movement in your action plan. The advantage of stablishing milestones, is that they act as sign posts throughout the course of your project, helping ensure you stay on track.
Timeline
Each goal and milestone must have an outline for the process necessary to achieve it. It is important that all activities are listed and set within a clearly defined timeframe.
Resources
The action plan should define the amount of money needed, the number of people required and any physical assets that will be necessary. Before you start your project, it’s crucial to ensure that you have all of the necessary resources.
